Description
Kibworth Harcourt Mill is a windmill dated 1711, which was restored in the 20th century. It is a postmill featuring a round-house made of red brick and a timber-framed body that is covered with weatherboarding. The round-house includes four small brick buttresses, two doors, and two boarded one-light windows. The mill's body has a two-leaved stable-type door that leads up a long flight of open wooden steps. The mill has restored wooden sails and a tail pole. Inside, the body displays close studding and chamfered timbers, wooden machinery, and two sets of millstones. The main post is inscribed with the name 'Daniel Hutchinson, Miller, 1711.' The mill is also designated as a scheduled ancient monument.
