Description

The war memorial located in the churchyard of St. Wilfrid in Kibworth Beauchamp dates from around 1920. It is made of stone and takes the form of a churchyard cross. The memorial features an octagonal stepped plinth with a square base pedestal that is chamfered to an octagon at the top and has a simple spur. Rising from this is a narrow octagonal shaft with a square base, accompanied by square miniature side shafts. The top is crenellated and supports a cross of octagonal section, which is decorated with foliage and a central shield. The pedestal and plinth display inscriptions and the names of those who fell.
