Description
No. 12 Albert Street is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with an extension likely added in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and has a corrugated tile roof, featuring brick end stacks on both ranges. There is a rubble stone plinth in part. The 18th-century section on the right is two storeys high, with two-light casement windows above two centre-opening three-light windows. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with glazed top panels. The left range is slightly taller, featuring a centre-opening three-light casement above two two-light windows. The last windows and the left three-light window in the right range have cambered lintels. An unusual interior feature includes probably original unplastered but whitewashed walls in some ground floor rooms. Additional interior details include chamfered beams, an inglenook fireplace with a reused beam, a wattle and daub partition, and a horizontal sliding sash window with leaded light.
