Description

The Summerhouse and part of the garden walls at the University of Loughborough date from the 18th century and were originally associated with Burleigh Hall, which has since been demolished. The structure features red brick walls and a central recess that is accessed through a segmental rusticated stone arch, which includes a carved head keystone. Above the arch is a pediment that originally displayed a coat-of-arms, along with a crest and urns that are now missing. The building has undergone significant alterations, which is why it does not qualify for a higher grade rating.
