Parish church. The building dates from the 11th and 13th centuries. The nave, porch and tower were rebuilt in 1873 to designs by William Smith, funded by Sir J. W. C. Hartopp. Construction is random granite rubble with ashlar dressings and plain tile roofs.
The building comprises a west tower, nave, chancel and south porch.
The west tower is buttressed and rises in three stages. It has a chamfered and moulded plinth, two string courses, a moulded eaves band with gargoyles, and a crenellated parapet with pinnacles. The first stage has a cusped Decorated double lancet with hood mould to the west. The second stage contains a clock to the west and single lancets to the north and south. The third stage has cusped double lancet bell openings with hood moulds on each side. A double chamfered and rebated tower arch has facetted conical imposts. The tower arch opening has a filleted roll mould and hood mould to the doorway, with a grained close boarded door.
The nave comprises three bays with three buttresses on each side. It has a chamfered plinth and moulded sill band, with a coped gable and finial. The north side features a re-set 11th century window flanked to the left by an intersecting triple lancet and to the right by a Decorated double lancet, both with hood moulds. The south side has two similar lancets to the east of the porch, and a Decorated single lancet to the west, all with hood moulds. The interior has a common rafter roof with arch bracing, collars and spine beam. A south east window contains stained glass from 1864.
The chancel spans two bays and has a moulded sill band, chamfered eaves and a coped gable with finial. The east end has a 19th century triple lancet with intersecting tracery and hood mould. The south side has a 13th century chamfered lancet to the west and a 19th century triple lancet with intersecting tracery and hood mould to the east. The interior has a 19th century king post roof with struts and traceried spandrels. A 19th century double rebated arch, with half-round responds and a painted text, separates the chancel from the nave. A north west window contains stained glass from 1909. The east end has an oak panelled dado from 1957 and a stained glass window by Hardman from 1868. The south side has a 13th century filleted roll moulded piscina to the east and a stained glass window from 1846 to the west.
The south porch has a chamfered sill band, coved eaves with bosses, and a coped gable with kneelers and finial. The double chamfered and rebated south doorway features shafts with crocketed capitals. A pair of 19th century traceried wooden gates are set in the entrance. Each side wall of the porch contains a single shouldered lancet.
Fittings include a square alabaster font from 1864 on multiple shafts, with biblical scenes in relief on each side and figures in niches at each corner. An early 18th century altar table with shaped apron and an early 18th century altar rail with turned newels are present. A 19th century traceried octagonal oak pulpit and panelled stalls and benches are also installed.
Memorials include an alabaster chest tomb with shield panels and incised slab lid to Sir William Turville, 1552. An early 17th century kneeling male figure in alabaster is also present.
