Description

This chest tomb, dating from around 1726, is located 5 metres north of the south porch of All Saints Church in Aston-upon-Trent. It is made of stone and features a single chest tomb on a wide plinth with a plain base. The north, west, and east sides have raised and fielded panels, with the west side containing an inserted slate plaque. The southern side bears a long inscription commemorating Thomas Holden, who died in 1726. The western plaque is dedicated to Arthur Shuttleworth Holden, who passed away in 1856. Atop the tomb is a deep slab with moulded sides and a chamfered top.
