Description
The Manse is a house dating to around 1800, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar and coursed rubble coal measures sandstone, featuring a shallow plain plinth, prominent quoins, a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles, and ashlar gable stacks. The house has two storeys and originally three bays, with a central doorway framed by a classical doorcase that includes a broken pediment and a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. A 20th-century six-panel door occupies the doorway, flanked by 20th-century windows with top-hung lights, set within projecting stone frames. The building has group value from its contribution to the street scene.
