Description
The gates and walls to the Roman Catholic Church of All Saints in Glossop were built in 1836, likely by the architects Hadfield & Weightman. They are made of cast iron and coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings. The central gate features plain spear-headed uprights and a diagonal rail, flanked by double cast-iron gate piers topped with pomegranate finials. The spear-headed railings include a top rail and two base rails. On either side, there are square ashlar piers with pyramidal caps, alongside curved flanking walls that have ashlar coping and similar outer piers. This structure is included for its group value with the Roman Catholic Church of All Saints.
