Description
The Nazarene Church, originally listed as a non-conformist church, was built in 1784 and altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick, which has been painted on the west side, with painted stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a three-bay west elevation topped with a pedimented gable. A 19th-century gabled porch is located at the front, with segment-headed windows on either side that contain small pane casements. There is a moulded hoodmould and an impost band above these windows. The upper section has three similar windows, also with a moulded impost band.
Inside, the church has a gallery that wraps around three sides, supported by cast iron columns. The gallery features a raised and fielded panelled front with fluted pilasters, and there is a raised and fielded panelled dado along the walls.
