Description

Rose Cottage is a late 18th-century building located at 1390 North Parade in Matlock Bath. It is constructed of stucco and features an ivy-covered front. The cottage has two storeys and includes three sash windows, each set in chamfered painted stone surrounds. The entrance has a simple wooden doorcase with a plain surround, a semi-circular head, and a wheel fanlight above. Painted stone quoins are present at the sides, and the building has plain eaves and a tiled roof. In front, there is a stone garden wall with flat moulded coping. Rose Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 124, 134 to 144 (even), 148 to 172 (even), the Royal Museum, and Nos 178 to 186 (even).
