Description

Temple Hotel is an early 19th-century building located at 1390 Temple Road in Matlock Bath. It is constructed from painted stone and has three storeys, forming an L-shape. The right-hand side features an advanced gabled wing with two sash windows, while the south-facing side of this wing has three sash windows, all set in plain surrounds. The left-hand wing includes four sash windows and a canted bay window that rises over three storeys to the gable end. At the intersection of the wings, there is an angled doorway with a small Roman Doric portico. The building has plain eaves and a slate roof. There is also a modern but sympathetic single-storey extension on the left-hand side.
