Description
The corn drying kiln, located to the south of Norbury Mill, dates from the 17th century and has undergone many later alterations. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar with stone dressings and features a plain tile roof, which has moulded stone coped gables and kneelers. The kiln is two storeys tall and consists of two bays.
On the south elevation, there is a low doorcase with a timber frame on the west side, and a tall opening on the east side that is now partly blocked, featuring a timber window frame just below the eaves. The west gable wall includes a first-floor door opening with an internal timber lintel. The north elevation has a blocked doorcase on the east side and an inserted central doorcase with a timber frame. There are no notable interior features. This structure is included for its group value only.
