Description
The former cottage, now serving as an outbuilding, is located immediately south of the Duncombe Arms public house. It dates from the late 17th century or 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a clay tile roof, with an integral ashlar stack at the north end.
It stands two storeys high and has three roof bays. The front elevation is irregular and has been significantly altered. On the ground floor, there are large two-leaf boarded doors at the center and to the right, a boarded door to the left of center with a pseudo-Tudor arch and panelled spandrels, and a top-opening window to the left. The first floor includes a fixed light window in the center, a boarded door to the right of center, and small blind windows to the right of the door and to the left of the window. To the right, there is a low brick extension. The north gable features a three-light chamfered mullioned window with a rebated surround and a straight hood mould. The Duncombe Arms public house is not included in this listing.
