Description

Dated 17... (figures worn, presumably indicating the 1700s), 5 Knowleston Place is a three-storeyed house constructed of coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings. The front facade has two two-light stone mullioned sash windows with single glazing bars in plain surrounds; quoins are visible at the sides of the building. The ground floor features a square stone bay window at each side, topped with ball-head finials at each corner. A plain doorway is recessed at the centre, with a cornice hood above. A one-windowed bay on the left-hand side includes a plaque dated 1772, and has a floor band and quoins at the sides. The roof is covered in slates. Nos. 5 to 15 (odd numbers) form a group.
