Description

The Duke William Inn, located at 91 Church Street in Matlock, is a building dated 1734, with 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of stone and has two storeys, featuring four windows framed in plain architraves. The entrance door is set within a modern or restored stone architrave, topped with a hood supported by consoles. There is a panel displaying engraved initials and the date above the door. The building has false quoins at the sides and stone gabled ends with kneelers. It also includes stone stacks and a slate roof.
