Description

The Close is a building with origins dating back to the 16th or 17th century, featuring later additions and alterations from the 18th century and beyond. Constructed from stone rubble, it has a slate roof and features both an off-centre and an end chimney. The building is two storeys high and includes four sash windows with glazing bars. There is a stone mullioned three-light window that retains its original iron latches. A projecting two-storey porch is located on the west side, which has a door framed in stone with a dripstone mould above it, as well as a window in the porch. The ground floor has modern bay windows, and there is an arched cellar with brick vaults.
