Description

Cliffash Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding to the northeast date from the 17th century, with the outbuilding added or extended in the 18th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed squared rubble gritstone, featuring quoins, a coped gable, and moulded kneelers at the southwest end, along with a central brick ridge stack and a smaller ridge stack at the northeast end. They have plain tiled roofs and form an 'L' shaped range that encloses a small courtyard, with the house on the southeast side and the outbuilding to the northeast.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays. It features recessed chamfer mullioned 2-light windows with dripmoulds, and glazing bar casements, some of which have iron frames. There are two doorways: one in the center with a Tudor-arched soffit, a deep lintel, a massive quoined surround, and a planked door; the other is at the northeast end with a stone frame and a small square sash window nearby.

The adjoining outbuilding is also two storeys and has four bays, with openings that are irregularly placed. It includes three plain doorways on the ground floor, two square window openings, and a central overloft door accessed by a flight of stone steps. There are ventilation slits on the upper floor at the northwest end and one 2-light flush mullioned opening on the first floor of the southwest elevation.
