Description
Lanehead Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century and extensively remodeled and enlarged in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble gritstone, featuring quoins at the southeast end, plain gables, intermediate and end brick ridge stacks, and a plain tiled roof. The building has a 'T' plan, with an advanced gable wing at the northeast end.
The southeast elevation is two storeys high and has three bays. It includes two-light windows that were originally fitted with flush mullions but now have 20th-century casements in flush surrounds, except for the opening to the northeast of the door, which retains a 19th-century glazing bar sash in an old surround. The central doorway of the main three-bay range is set in a quoined surround and features a six-panelled door. The advanced bay to the northeast has a Venetian window on the ground floor and a two-light flush mullioned window above.
