Description
The Forge is a house and former outbuildings, including a forge, dating from the 17th century, with the outbuildings possibly being later additions. The structure is built from coursed rubble and features a new roof covering that has replaced the original thatch. The house is low, with two storeys and a two-unit plan. There is a former door on the left side that is now blocked, and to its right is a two-light casement window. Beyond this is a lean-to squared bay window with three-light mullions that have ovolo moulding. There is also a small fire window, and above, two two-light casements with flat timber lintels. To the right of the house is a newer range that has one unit and two storeys, featuring a doorway on the left and a casement window next to it. Additionally, there is a single-storey addition that includes a casement window and double doors, which likely led to the former forge.
