Description
St Mary’s Congregational Hall is a former congregational church, now serving as a church hall. A plaque indicates it was built in 1829 as an Independent Chapel. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Collyweston stone slate roof. The entrance to the chapel is round-headed and has double doors beneath a radiating fanlight. To the right of the entrance are two chapel windows, which are 9/9 sashes with round heads that also include similar fanlights. To the left of the entrance are offices, likely converted from a pre-existing cottage. The first floor has a 6/3 sash window with a cill and a lintel that features a flush keystone above. The ground floor includes a 2-light horizontally sliding sash window with shutters, located in a blocked doorway beneath a renewed timber lintel.
