Description

The Wheatsheaf is a large house that has been converted into an inn, likely dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a whitewashed front with a stone tiled roof and coped gables. The building has two storeys and was probably originally designed as three separate units, although the front elevation has been altered. The upper windows and the windows of the lower unit on the ground floor have been replaced. There is a door located in a bracketed porch, and to the right of this is a long and low three-light casement window with a flat timber lintel. A modern extension interrupts the facade to the right. The building features two axial brick stacks on stone bases.
