Description

A pair of cottages on Church Street in Langham, with portions likely dating before 1720, evidenced by a datestone of that year. The cottages are constructed of rubble and brickwork, with a thatched roof. They are two storeys in height. The front features a rubble plinth and a red brick facade with burnt headers, some exposed rubble work to the right, and patches at eaves level. Rubble is also visible on the gables and rear. Number 22 has a roofed canted bay window to the left, featuring sash windows. Above, a casement window with a cambered head is positioned between a blocked older window, which may have originally served as a stairwell. Casement windows are present in the upper storey. A shared doorway to the left leads into a new porch. Number 24 incorporates rubble in its construction and features two casement windows to the right of the doorway, with a further two above. Brick stacks are present, and the gables are brick-coped.
