Description
Peacock's Cottage, originally from the 17th century, is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Collyweston stone slate roof, with its gable end facing the street. It has a moulded stone stack at the south end and a large external stack on the east side. The cottage is 1½ storeys high. The gable end includes a 20th-century window next to a blocked doorway on the right, three 19th-century ovolo-mullioned windows to the left and above, and a chamfered oval panel in the gable. The west side has a small rectangular chamfered blocked window on the left, 20th-century French windows on the right, and a two-light casement window above. The current entrance is through a 20th-century porch at the rear. Inside, there is a large fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a timber lintel on the ground floor, along with a small Tudor-arched stone fireplace in the front first-floor room. To the north, there is a range of 18th-century outbuildings, which now includes a garage.
