Description

Horseshoe Cottage is a house dating to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a roof covered in Collyweston stone slates. The house features moulded stone end stacks, with a double stack to the south and a single stack to the north. It is two storeys high and has a three-window front. The entrance, with a 19th-century boarded door, is positioned between the central and left-hand bays. There are two-light casement windows with glazing bars and cills, each set beneath a lintel with a flush keystone. A set-off is visible between the ground and first floors. A section of 19th-century walling, located above the first-floor windows, projects slightly. A single-storey, one-room extension with a flat roof was added in the 20th century to the south side.
