Description
No. 35 Market Place is a late 17th century or early 18th century building that stands two stories tall with attics. The exterior is finished in stucco and topped with stone slates. It features a moulded wood cornice at the eaves, along with a moulded stucco band and plinth. The building has three windows with hung sashes, which have projecting straight arches with moulded keystones. The ground floor has modern windows. The central door, dating from the 19th century, is recessed and set within a reeded doorcase that includes a small hood supported by brackets with drop pendants. This building is part of a group that includes the Market Cross, Stocks, Nos 35 and 37, and Nos 1 to 3 Church Passage.
