Description

This is a charming stone cottage on Melton Road, dated to the 17th century. It is a single-storey building with an attic, topped with a reed thatched roof featuring two dormers. The front of the cottage has two sliding sash windows, each fitted with outside shutters and wooden lintels. A simple four-panel wooden door provides access. The base of the cottage is rendered. Local tradition suggests that this was the birthplace of Jeffrey Hudson, known as the Rutland Dwarf, and Titus Dates.
