Description
The Limes is a house built in the early to mid 19th century, likely with earlier origins. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings and features Collyweston stone slate roofs. The roof is hipped with deep eaves over the west wing that faces the street, and it has a gabled section over a long range that runs at right angles to the wing. The building has ridge and lateral stacks and is two storeys high with attics.
The west facade is two windows wide, with the entrance located to the north in the flank of a gabled projection. The entrance features a plain architrave with a rectangular fanlight. The windows are sash style with margin lights, set beneath stone lintels that have flush keystones and cills. The south front includes a central two-storey canted bay window with a large hipped dormer above. The fenestration is mixed, primarily consisting of sash windows. The north front has two gabled projections connected by a lower section, which is also lit by sash windows.
