Description
The Crown Inn is a public house that likely dates back to the 17th century, with later additions, and is designed in an L-shape. The original 17th-century section is constructed of rubble stone and is rendered, featuring a steeply-pitched thatched roof with a gable end facing the street. It has a lateral stack and a canted bay window on the north side, along with a canted bay window on the ground floor of the west gable end, which has a 2-light casement window above it. There is also a dormer on the south side. The later stone and brick additions are painted white and topped with Collyweston stone slate roofs, which include ridge and end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has mixed fenestration, mostly from the 20th century. There is a single-storey extension added to the south in the 20th century.
