Description
Orchard House is a house that was formerly several cottages, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone tiled roof and has two storeys in an L-plan layout. The building features a long range made up of two different sections, with a single bay on the left side made of squared rubble, and two additional bays with the same rough quoining. The wing of the house is also of a different construction and is likely of a later date, made from squared ironstone rubble. There is a doorway located at the angle of the two ranges, along with various stone mullioned windows that have hoodmoulds, including a canted bay window, which, although old, are not original to the house. Inside, one room contains fine panelling that has been taken from Loddington Hall. The house has axial and gable end brick stacks to the left of the main range.
