Description
Tinwell House is a house from the early to mid-19th century, with later additions that match its style. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a hipped Welsh slate roof with deep eaves. The house has two storeys and originally features a three-window range with a double front. The nine-pane sash windows on the first floor have keystones. There is a central open porch supported by fluted Doric columns and pilasters, leading to a panelled door with a fanlight above that has glazing bars. On either side of the porch, there are round-headed sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded architraves. The building has string courses at all levels.
To the left, there is an addition with twin sash windows that do not have glazing bars; the first-floor windows break through the eaves and feature a shallow-pitched bracketed gable. On the right, there is a one-storey, one-room extension with similar twin sash windows and a gable. Behind the main house, there is a two-storey brick service range topped with a hipped Collyweston stone slate roof.
