Description

Chimney Cottage is a house, originally a range of cottages, dating to 1771, as indicated by the date on the gable. The construction is of rubble stone with ashlar detailing, and it has a concrete tiled roof. The building has a single storey and attic, with a gable end facing the street. An attached outhouse is constructed of rubble stone and corrugated iron. The ground floor features seven irregularly shaped casement windows, alongside a 20th-century entrance porch. Three 20th-century dormers have been added to the roof. Stone coping runs along the roofline, and an ashlar stack is present. Inside, a fireplace with a wattle and daub surround is noted.
