Description

The Cattle Market gate and gate piers, located on Meadow Lane in Nottingham, were constructed in 1886 by Charles Smith & Sons of Birmingham. They are made of cast and wrought iron. The structure features three square, panelled piers that have moulded capitals and bases. The front panel displays the City coat of arms, and each pier is topped with cross-gabled caps that have bulls' heads positioned below the gables. On either side of the main entrance, there are pairs of ornate wrought-iron gates, along with single wrought-iron side gates that follow the same decorative pattern.
