Description

The bridge over the canal, built between 1792 and 1793, carries Meadow Lane over the Nottingham Canal. It was designed by William Jessop and James Green for the Nottingham Canal Company. The structure is made of coursed squared stone, featuring an ashlar string course and coping. It has a single elliptical arch with splayed parapet walls and half-round coping. On the north-east side, there is a fluted cast-iron roller that helps reduce wear on tow ropes as they navigate the nearby bend.
