Description

This is a statue of Sir Robert Juckes Clifton, located 50 meters east of Wilford Bridge on the south side of Victoria Embankment in Nottingham. It was created around 1870 by W.P. Smith of Nottingham to commemorate Sir Robert Juckes Clifton, who served as a Member of Parliament from 1861 until his death in 1869. The statue is made of sandstone and depicts a life-size standing figure dressed in contemporary attire. It stands on a battered square pedestal that features a cornice and a stepped square base. An inscription on the pedestal provides details about Clifton's political career.
