Description
This is a parish boundary marker located on the canal towpath to the south of Castle Lock, dating from 1869. Made of cast iron, it has a half-round section and stands approximately 1 meter high. The names of three Overseers of the Poor are inscribed in raised lettering. Nottingham's parish boundaries were established around 1869 to facilitate the levying of Poor Rates.
