Description
5 and 7 Pelham Street are two houses that have been converted into shops and flats. They were built around 1810 and underwent alterations around 1900 and again in the late 20th century. The exterior is finished in stucco, and the roof is not visible behind a coped parapet. The buildings are three storeys high and feature a four-window range.
On the ground floor, there are two wooden shopfronts from around 1900. The left shopfront is largely intact and includes a granite plinth and a recessed original glazed door, flanked by plate glass windows with arched glazing bar toplights. The right shopfront has been altered in the late 20th century. Above the shopfronts, there are four glazing bar sash windows on each floor, with the upper ones being smaller.
