Description

19 and 21 Belvoir Hill is a pair of houses with attic workshops, built around 1820. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar and brick dressings, topped with slate roofs featuring a central ridge stack. The buildings are three storeys high and have a symmetrical front with two 16-pane sash windows, which are flanked by fielded six-panel doors that have overlights. Above these, there are two plain sash windows. All the openings are topped with rubbed brick segment arches. At the top, there are two large five-light glazing bar casements for the workshops. This type of building is rare, with many similar structures having been built between 1785 and 1840 for lace and hosiery workers.
