Description
The Greek Orthodox Church of St Nicholas and St Xenophon, formerly known as the Church of All Souls, is a Grade II* listed building constructed in 1904 by architect G.F. Bodley. Designed in the Gothic style, it is built of red brick with stone dressings and features a tiled roof. A bellcote is located on the west gable of the south aisle.
Inside, the church has a nave and chancel that are unified under a continuous boarded wagon roof. The nave piers are matched with slightly chamfered arches that extend into them. The chancel consists of two bays and includes moulded piers. The aisles are supported by transverse diaphragm arches and have boarded roofs that are nearly the same height as the nave. Notable interior features include a wooden chancel screen, a stone reredos, and two-light windows in the aisles.
