Description

No 8, Market Place is an early 19th-century building constructed of grey brick with painted stone dressings and a slate roof. It features a heavy moulded cornice at the eaves and a wide band at the second floor level. The building stands three storeys high and has three sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor windows are round-arched with continuous moulded imposts, while the second floor has flat lintels. The ground floor has a large modern shopfront with an illuminated fascia. This building is listed as Grade II for its group value, as it forms a group with Nos 4, 6, and 8.
