Description
The Jewry Wall Museum is a former college of education built between 1960 and 1962, designed by Trevor Dannatt. It features a brown brick exterior combined with board-marked reinforced concrete and has flat roofs. The building is two to three storeys high and has an L-shaped two-storey range to the west, where the museum is located on the ground floor. Inside the museum, there are board-marked concrete barrel vaults along the ceiling, supported by expressed beams. The ground floor has deeply recessed floor-to-ceiling glazing, while the upper floor is fitted with horizontal strip windows. The north wing is elevated on pilotis and also features horizontal strip windows, with timber window frames throughout.
