Description

Kingston Terrace comprises a circa 1850 terraced range of red-brick buildings, numbered 5 to 7 on Edward Street. Each property has three storeys and a single sash window with a stone keyblock and flat brick arch. Ground-floor windows are inset within segmental-headed recesses, also featuring keyblocks. Doorways are set within double recesses with keyblocks and semi-circular heads, topped with plain fanlights. The buildings have modern doors and stone steps. Moulded wood eaves are partly restored, and the roof is slate-covered, featuring a stone sill band with plain pilaster sides.

A high stone retaining wall runs along the forecourt, returning at each end and topped with elaborate cast iron railings. Plain stone gate piers are positioned at both ends of the terrace. Nos 3 to 7, including the forecourt walls, railings, and gate piers, form a group of group value.
