Description

This description is for a pair of gate-piers located in a wall approximately 5 meters west of Marsh Close in Warmfield-Cum-Heath. The gate-piers date from the early to mid-18th century and are made of ashlar stone. They are square in shape and stand on plinths, topped with casement-moulded cornices that have hollow-chamfered caps. There is a later wall between and on either side of the piers, but this wall is not considered of special interest. The gate-piers originally provided access through a semicircular drive, which has since been altered, to the East entrance of the Dower House.
