Description
The churchyard wall with gateways and gates is located to the west, south, and east of the Church in Bretton Park and dates from around 1744, coinciding with the church's construction. The wall is made of coursed squared stone and features slightly weathered coping along with a simple later iron railing. On the south side, the wall forms a ha-ha and curves to the north at the west end, where it becomes lower, likely due to infilling of the ha-ha ditch.
To the east, there is a pair of ashlar piers at the gateway, complemented by iron intermediate piers. The gates consist of square bars and dog bars, with circular designs forming the top and mid bands. The west wall ends at the north in a square pier. The east gateway is marked by short square ashlar piers that have moulded bases and broad, flat moulded caps, supporting simple iron gates.
