Description
Cliff Field House is an early to mid-19th century, two-storey villa that has a fairly square plan and features five windows. The building is constructed of red brick and has a stone plinth that rises to a full storey on the southwest side due to the hill slope. It has a hipped slated roof with a moulded stone cornice at the front and box gutters on the returns. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with gauged flat brick arches and stone cills. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a plain fanlight, set within a moulded architrave that includes impost blocks. The doorcase is a pedimented Tuscan stone design, possibly dating from the early 20th century. On the north return, there is a subsidiary door and two blocked windows.
