Description
This is a row of four cottages, originally five, located on New Road in Middlestown. They date from the early to mid 19th century, with the end cottages being slightly later additions. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared stone and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, with each cottage consisting of one bay. The three central cottages have a doorway on the right side and a three-light flat-faced stone mullion window on each floor. The centre cottage has an inserted first-floor window. The left cottage has a doorway to the right and a single-light window on each floor. The right cottage has a blocked doorway on the left and a two-light window on each floor, with the ground floor window being taller. Straight joints are visible on the end cottages, and there are ridge stacks present. The rear elevation has been altered and includes lean-to additions.
