Description

Loscoe Grange is a house, now used as a store, dating from the mid-18th century and has been altered. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a stone slate roof. The building has a double-pile plan, consisting of a single-depth front range with rear wings, and is designed in a classical style.

The house is two storeys high and has five symmetrical bays. The central three bays are slightly projected and topped with a pediment. This section includes a large timber bay window that has replaced former openings, likely a door and a window, on the ground floor's center and right-hand side. There are also two large sash windows, a dentilled cornice, and a flat roof. To the right, the fifth bay features a smaller bay window with a damaged 3-light French window, a similar cornice, and a hipped pentice roof. The remaining windows are 4-pane sashes with flat-arched brick heads, and the first bay's ground floor window has narrow sidelights. The building is topped with a hipped roof, which has two cruciform 4-flue chimney stacks on the ridge flanking the pediment. The left return wall has been altered by later additions and subsequent removals, while the right-hand return wall has windows similar to those at the front. The rear of the building includes three gabled wings.

Inside, there is a panelled stairwell featuring an 18th-century doglegged staircase with an open string, scrolled brackets, and two turned balusters per tread.
