Description
The Leeds Fire Brigade Memorial, located approximately 10 meters south of Woodhouse Cemetery Lodge, was erected in 1892. It features a square stepped granite plinth topped with an obelisk. The memorial includes limestone carvings depicting a 19th-century horse-drawn fire engine and related equipment, with the obelisk surmounted by a helmet. The eastern front of the memorial lists those commemorated, including James Potter Schofield (1892), RW Horney (1896), Joseph Ellis (1897), and Herbert Storey (1909). The northern side honors Patrick Dunleavy (1922), Isaac Percival (1924), and Alfred Edward Waterhouse (1930).
