Description

The ice house at Cookridge Hall, built around 1820 for Robert Wormald, is a Grade II listed structure. It is constructed from gritstone and features dressed stone with a chamfered arched doorway on the west side. Inside, there are steps leading down to an underground vaulted chamber. The entire structure is enclosed by a massive, low stone wall, and a mound of earth covers the chamber. At the time of the survey, part of the ice house was demolished.
