Description
Smithy Hall is a house, barn, and smithy that have been combined into one residence. It dates from the late 18th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features stone slate roofs. The house is two storeys high and has two first-floor windows, with a layout that is two rooms deep. The central entrance has a 20th-century glazed door. The windows are two-light with plain surrounds and flat-faced glazing bars, and they have 20th-century small-pane frames. There are corniced end stacks.
To the west (left) is the barn, which is dated 1792 and has a large segmental carriage arch at the center, now with glazed inserted windows. To the east (right) is the smithy, which features three and four-light flat-faced mullion windows that include a chamfered tie-beam. The interior has not been inspected.
