Description
Manor House Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red and brown brick in English garden wall bond, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a double-depth, two-cell plan, featuring a symmetrical facade with five bays. The facade is accentuated by ashlar quoins, a plinth, and a doorway with tie-stone jambs. On both floors, there are windows with flush wood architraves, projecting stone sills, and flat brick arches, although the glazing has been altered. Above the doorway, there is a blind window. The gable ends have stacks, and the rear of the house includes a semicircular-arched stair window with impost blocks and a keystone. The right-hand return of the building has three bays, with a central doorway framed by Doric pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice, while the windows on either side match those at the front. The left-hand return is rendered and was formerly attached to an early 17th-century cottage that has since been demolished.
Inside, one room features a plaster moulded cornice and original shutters, and there is an open-well staircase with turned balusters.
